‘The Irrational’ Season 2 Premiere Delayed to Oct. 8 Due to Vice Presidential Debate

NBC has postponed the premiere of “The Irrational” Season 2 from its original date of October 1. The new launch date is now set for October 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, following the scheduling of the vice presidential debate between Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) on October 1. The show’s return will be preceded by a special two-hour edition of “The Voice.”

The series, which debuted on NBC in September 2023, garnered solid ratings and was renewed for a second season in November. “The Irrational” stars Jesse L. Martin as Alec Mercer, a world-renowned professor of behavioral science who applies his expertise to high-stakes cases and mysteries. Joining Martin in the cast are Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, and Arash DeMaxi.

Inspired by Dan Ariely’s book “Predictably Irrational,” the show is developed for television by Arika Lisanne Mittman, who serves as an executive producer along with Mark Goffman, Sam Baum, David Frankel, and Robert Wolfe. Universal Television is the producing entity behind the series.
