Park Ji Ah, Star of "The Glory," Passes Away at 52 After Cerebral Infarction

Actress Park Ji Ah, renowned for her role as Song Hye Kyo’s mother in the hit series “The Glory,” has tragically passed away at the age of 52. Her agency, BILLIONS, confirmed the news, revealing that she succumbed to complications from a cerebral infarction on September 30, with her death occurring at 2:50 AM KST.

The funeral service for Park Ji Ah is scheduled for October 2, with the coffin to be sealed at 10 AM KST at the mortuary set up in Room 2 of Asan Medical Center in Seoul. Her agency expressed deep sorrow over her passing and honored her unwavering passion for acting, which she maintained until the end.

Park Ji Ah made her acting debut in 2002 after graduating from the Seoul Institute of the Arts with an associate’s degree in theatre. She first appeared in the film “The Coast Guard” and had prior guest roles in movies like “Bus Stop” and “Oh! LaLa Sisters.” Over the years, she became known for her performances in various dramas, including “Cleaning Up,” “Bloody Heart,” and “Judge Vs Judge.”

Her most memorable performance remains her portrayal of a despicable mother in “The Glory.” Park Ji Ah’s final film appearance was in the upcoming “Hijacking 1971,” and she was also featured in other notable works such as “The Closet,” “Rampant,” “Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum,” and “Girl on the Edge.”
