  • Machine Learning (ML)

The AI Cell will focus on automating government processes, improving decision-making, and enhancing citizen services. A key tool under this initiative is the AI-based Government Order Summary and Information Extraction Tool, which will allow both officials and citizens to easily access government orders, policies, and schemes.

AI-Driven Public Grievance Redressal: IPGRS 2.0 Launched

To improve the efficiency of handling public grievances, Karnataka is introducing IPGRS 2.0, an upgraded AI-integrated Integrated Public Grievance Redressal System. This system aims to streamline complaints, track their resolution, and provide real-time updates to citizens.

Tech-Driven Attendance Monitoring Across Departments

The Karnataka Advanced Attendance Management System is being rolled out across all government departments. This system will combine AI and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to ensure better attendance tracking and workforce management.

Empowering Education with AI: ‘Kalika Deepa’ Program

In collaboration with Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani's EkStep Foundation, the Karnataka government is introducing the ‘Kalika Deepa’ program. This AI-powered initiative will benefit 2,000 schools across the state, helping students learn Kannada, English, and foundational math skills through AI-driven personalized learning tools.

Karnataka GIS Portal 2.0: AI-Powered Geospatial Data Management

The Karnataka-GIS (K-GIS) Portal is getting a Rs 150 crore upgrade to incorporate AI and ML tools. This portal, managed by the Karnataka State Remote Sensing Application Centre (KSRSAC), provides essential geospatial data, departmental asset information, and digitized Hissa maps for over 29,000 revenue villages.

A new AI-based Smart Judicial System will be developed with Rs 2 crore to automate court transcriptions, translate judicial documents, and improve accessibility of legal information.

AI in Agriculture: Digital Agricultural Service Centres

Karnataka is setting up Digital Agricultural Service Centres, integrating AI, digital, and geospatial technologies to support farmers. These centres will:

AI-Enabled Traffic Monitoring & Road Safety Measures

To enhance traffic monitoring and rule enforcement, Karnataka will install AI-enabled electronic cameras at 60 locations across Davanagere, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Chitradurga, Haveri, Hospet, Bellari, Vijayapura, and Dakshina Kannada districts. This project, costing Rs 50 crore, aims to:

  • Detect and control traffic violations
  • Improve road safety
  • Enhance urban mobility
