Hitachi Launches Android-Based Cash Recycling Machine to Revolutionize Digital Banking Services
Hitachi Payment Services has unveiled a groundbreaking Android-Based Cash Recycling Machine, the HPDx-BU01, designed to transform digital banking by offering an extensive range of banking and non-banking services. This innovative machine marks a significant advancement in the integration of traditional cash handling with modern digital banking capabilities.
The HPDx-BU01, which functions as a Digital Banking Unit (DBU), combines the robustness of conventional cash recycling machines with the flexibility of the Android operating system. This fusion enables banks to deploy a versatile solution that can be customized to address specific business requirements and adapt to local market conditions.
Among its notable features, the Android-Based CRM introduces QR-based UPI cash deposit functionality to India for the first time. This allows customers to make card-less cash deposits into their own or others’ accounts at any time, revolutionizing the ease and accessibility of cash transactions. Additionally, the machine supports QR-based UPI cash withdrawals, account openings, credit card issuances, personal loans, insurance services, MSME loans, and FASTag applications and recharges.
Sumil Vikamsey, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer – Cash Business at Hitachi Payment Services, highlighted the transformative potential of this new technology. “This innovation will play a pivotal role in digitalizing banking services and expanding access across India, turning self-service banking touchpoints into vital hubs for financial engagement,” Vikamsey stated.
A spokesperson from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) underscored the importance of consolidating comprehensive banking services onto a single platform. The introduction of UPI-based cash withdrawal and deposit features is expected to significantly enhance the adoption of digital banking services, especially in remote areas, and contribute to the expansion of ATM channels throughout the country.
Hitachi’s latest offering is poised to revolutionize the way banking services are delivered, providing a robust and flexible platform that caters to a wide range of financial needs while facilitating the growth of digital banking infrastructure across India.
