Falcons Snatch Victory from Eagles with Late Touchdown
In a thrilling finish, the Atlanta Falcons secured their first win of the 2024 NFL season with a dramatic 22-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
The game was decided in the final 38 seconds when Falcons wide receiver Drake London caught a crucial touchdown pass, leveling the score at 21-21. Younghoe Koo’s successful extra point sealed the win for Atlanta.
The Falcons had started the fourth quarter with a 15-10 lead but saw their advantage erode as the Eagles scored 11 unanswered points, including a critical field goal. However, London’s late touchdown and Koo’s extra point provided the Falcons with a comeback victory.
Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins played a pivotal role, throwing two touchdown passes. His first was a 41-yard strike to Darnell Mooney, who made an acrobatic front flip into the end zone in the third quarter. Cousins’ second touchdown pass to London was the game-winner.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts contributed to both of Philadelphia’s touchdowns, connecting with DeVonta Smith for the opener and rushing for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Both teams are now 1-1 after two games, with each side experiencing a win and a defeat early in the season.
