Crystal Palace Secures Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah for £30 Million, Adds Goalkeeper Matt Turner on Loan

Crystal Palace has bolstered its squad with the signing of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah for approximately £30 million. The 25-year-old forward has inked a five-year contract with the Eagles, marking him as the club’s fifth acquisition of the summer transfer window. Nketiah’s arrival follows the deadline-day signing of French defender Maxence Lacroix for £18 million.

“It’s amazing to sign for Crystal Palace – I’m excited to get going,” Nketiah said. “Returning to South London always brings a smile to my face, so it’s great to be back home.”

Palace chairman Steve Parish expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, stating, “We’re thrilled to welcome Eddie, a senior England international, back to South London. His energy, talent, and drive will surely resonate with both his new teammates and our supporters.”

Nketiah, who joined Arsenal at age 14 from Chelsea’s youth system, scored 38 goals in 168 appearances for the Gunners.

In addition to Nketiah, Crystal Palace has also confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Matt Turner from Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan. The 30-year-old American, who previously played for Arsenal, made 21 appearances for Forest last season.

“I’m really excited to be here and ready to get to work,” Turner said. “I’ve heard great things about [goalkeeping coach] Dean Kiely from Wayne Hennessey, and I’m eager to learn from and support my new teammates while pushing them to excel.”
