Chemco and Bhageria Industries Invest $16.65 Million in Bahrain’s Manufacturing Sector
Chemco and Bhageria Industries are making a significant expansion into Bahrain with a combined investment of $16.65 million, alongside contributions from an undisclosed ICT firm. The announcement was made by H.E. Noor Bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB, during her visit to Bengaluru aimed at boosting bilateral relations and foreign direct investment.
The investment highlights Bahrain’s growing appeal as a regional hub for manufacturing and niche technology companies. Alkhulaif emphasized that this influx of capital underscores Bahrain’s competitive value proposition and its reputation as a trusted destination for international business expansion.
India’s foreign direct investment (FDI) in Bahrain has surged by 36.6% from 2019 to 2023, with an average annual increase of $102 million, bringing the total FDI stock to $1.52 billion in 2023.
In addition to the investments by Chemco and Bhageria Industries, Bahrain is set to receive a $50 million investment in the healthcare sector. An announcement regarding a new semiconductor manufacturing venture from Chennai is also anticipated within the next two days. Ali Al Mudaifa, Chief of Business Development at Bahrain EDB, revealed that this upcoming project will focus on advanced manufacturing and cutting-edge electronic equipment.
