CBS has revealed its plans to give the Paramount+ drama, Tulsa King, a new platform this summer.

The broadcast network made the announcement on Wednesday that the first season of the Sylvester Stallone-fronted series, Tulsa King, will be aired on CBS this summer, though the specific air date remains to be determined.

Securing a spot on CBS puts Tulsa King among other Paramount+ originals that found additional viewership through the network, such as the prominent Yellowstone, the fifth season of SEAL Team, plus select episodes of Criminal Minds: Evolution, the anticipated Frasier reboot, and entries from the Star Trek universe like Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

The broadcast of Tulsa King on CBS intends to provoke interest in anticipation of its second season, which is set to release on Paramount+ this fall.

Under the executive production of Tyler Sheridan, Tulsa King narrates the story of Dwight “The General” Manfredi, portrayed by Stallone, an ex-mafia capo who, post a 25-year prison sentence, finds himself pushed out by his boss to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Faced with the betrayal of his mafia family and adjusting to a new environment, Dwight creates a new crime ring with a motley crew of characters.

The ensemble cast for the show includes noted actors like Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Jay Will, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany.

The initial airing of Tulsa King garnered a favorable response from TVLine’s audience, with the show’s debut receiving an “A-” grade, while the finale and the overall nine-episode season both received solid “A” ratings.
